Another year, another round of MANLY Ads! If you saw last year’s video compilation then you know the concept… We’re constantly being bombarded with messages about what it means to be a real man in this society… This video examines one source of those messages; advertising (televised ads in particular). What themes and messages about masculinity appeared in ads airing from January to December 2011? What themes carried over from 2010? Did any thing new pop up this year? You may have noticed a big gap in events listed on my calendar in the past few months. Don’t fret, it’s not because I haven’t been busy… in fact it’s quite the opposite. Here on my website my calender is focused on special presentations and trainings I’m doing across the country (and/or world) but I’m involved in so much more! My summer was focused on designing a “risk reduction” curriculum for the USAF as well as plenty of planning for the upcoming school year at MIT. Expect more from me about the USAF curriculum soon.

Air Force Bystander Intervention – Train-the-Trainer Facilitator Training

This is the final Air Force Bystander Intervention Train-the-Trainer facilitator training. After this we’re done training the select group of Air Force SARCs who will take over our roles and train new SARCs.

This final session will take place at Andrews AFB in Maryland on March 15-17, 2011
